I am Dr. rer. nat. Dennis Alexander Kwiatkowski – a scientist, consultant, and entrepreneur with a passion for biotech, pharma, digital health solutions, and data-driven business strategies.

My Scientific Background

My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biochemistry at the University of Greifswald, followed by a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biochemistry at the Freie Universität Berlin. I completed my PhD at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and successfully defended it at the Freie Universität Berlin in 2020.

My scientific interests have taken me from protein biochemistry and structural biology to infectious disease research and oncology, all the way to drug discovery and development. This has provided me with deep insights into preclinical and clinical research as well as strategic decision-making in both academic research and the pharmaceutical industry.

In addition to my scientific education, I have expanded my expertise with a certified business administration degree (IWW, FernUniversität Hagen) to better understand economic contexts in the biotech, pharma, and healthcare industries.

My Professional Experience

I currently work as a Senior Manager Customer Success at the German healthtech company Temedica in Munich. Previously, I was a consultant at Scitaris, a boutique biotech/pharma R&D consulting firm, where I supported pharmaceutical companies in strategic and scientific matters, including portfolio reprioritization, asset search & evaluation (S&E), competitive landscapes, clinical development strategies, and data-driven decision-making.

  • the digital lab notebook Labtwin, an AI-powered solution for scientific laboratories
  • the digital patient companion dibi, a digital assistant for type 2 diabetes patients

Entrepreneurship & Projects

In addition to my full-time job, I have worked as a freelance consultant for the pharma and biotech industry. Some of my contributions include:

  • Supporting BCG Digital Ventures in developing digital scientific solutions and data-driven business models
  • Training scientists and laboratory staff at Nuvisan in membrane protein characterization and crystallization

I also manage various projects and websites, including:

  • BerlinBiotech.de – A blog about Berlin’s biotech & healthtech scene, focusing on startups, innovations, and events

Personal Interests

Outside of my professional activities, I enjoy:

  • Traveling & Hiking – Especially in the mountains of Southern Europe, such as the border region of Bulgaria and Greece
  • Boating & the Sea – I love spending time on the water
  • Culinary & Enjoyment – I am a fan of BBQ, Balkan and Greek cuisine, and craft beer
  • Podcasting & Content Creation – I experiment with podcast production and blog writing
